…when I was about 7 years old👧🏻, my dad got into real estate and I no longer saw him on Sundays because he was gone most of the day hosting open houses. And being that I'm super close with my dad and didn't like😟this new schedule change of being away from my hero💕, I pleaded🥺😤😂 that he start taking me with him to his open houses. He asked me "Are you sure you want to come with me? These open houses can be really boring at times." And I replied, "Of course dad! I just want to be with you🤗." Little did I know it was THERE😮 at my dad's open houses that I would discover what I wanted to do for the rest of my life...DESIGN✍🏼!
I was perfectly content just hanging with my dad in random people's homes he had for sale, because while there..I would roam the entire property, deep in thought carefully analyzing🧐 each area, thinking about everything I would change to make it look better than its current state. My little 7-year old brain was flooding with endless design ideas🤔💡💡💡 like what color the walls should be, how the arrangement of furniture should be moved this way or that way, how the kitchen cabinets would look beautifully updated if only the hardware didn't look so outdated, and if that extra staircase next to the downstairs guest suite was really necessary. I was HOOKED🤩. I couldn't wait for Sundays to come because I knew it was another design adventure awaiting me...another opportunity for me to analyze and explore endless design possibilities with each new open house my dad hosted.
